<p> A 21-year-old allegedly committed suicide in her house at south Delhi’s Katwaria Sarai, police said on Friday.<br /><br /></p>.<p>Neelam, who hails from Uttar Pradesh, was staying alone in a rented accommodation and was preparing for a competitive exam. According to B S Jaiswal, deputy commissioner of police (south), she was found hanging from a ceiling fan on Friday afternoon.<br /><br />The incident came to light after neighbours complained to their landlord about foul smell emanating from Neelam’s house. “They broke open the door and found Neelam’s body,” a police officer said.<br /><br />Police was informed after one of the neighbours immediately made a call to the police control room at 12:50 pm. Her body has been preserved for post-mortem at AIIMS.<br /><br />Police are questioning Neelam’s friends and neighbours and have informed her family. “The exact cause of death and the sequence of events are yet to be established,” the officer added.</p>
