Koti- Chennaiah circle opens

The ‘Koti- Chennaiah’ circle, renovated by Narayanaguru Yuvavedike after spending around Rs 5 lakh, at Hampanakatta Mangaladevi- Kankanadi Mangaladevi road junction, near Nandigudda, was inaugurated by Janatha Constructions Proprietor Ramesh Kumar on Sunday.

Speaking after the inauguration, Ramesh Kumar stressed the need for unity among social organisations which would fulfil public needs. Depending on the government may not work all the time, he said. The chief guest at the programme, former minister Kota Srinivas Poojary concentrated on the lessons taught by Koti-Chennaiah brothers to society, around 600 years ago. “They showed how a person from the corner of society can join the mainstream. Their fight for social justice is a model for new generation,” he said.

Engineer Santhosh Kumar was felicitated on the occasion. Kankanady Sri Kshetra Brahma Brahma Baidarkala Garadi President Chittaranjan, MCC Corporators Premannanda Shetty, Shailaja, Sashidhara Hegde, Purushottama Hegde, Vasudeva Kottari, former corporators Vijayalaxmi, Suresh Babu and Meera Ashok and others were also present in the programme.
