Missing senior citizen found dead

A mentally challenged senior citizen who went missing from his home in Kempegowda Nagar was found dead on the service road along West of Chord Road, early on Monday morning.

The body was discovered by two constables attached to the Rajajinagar police station when they were on night patrol.

“The body was found on the road, beside the footpath, near Warrier Bakery, 55th Cross, West of Chord Road,” police said and added that there were no signs of external injuries on the body. The man was identified as Raghavendra Rao (61), a resident of Raghavendra Colony.

Complaint lodged

Police said that Rao had left his home on the evening of May 24, without informing his family members. The family had registered a missing complaint with KG Nagar police the next day.

Manjuanth, the brother of Rao, speculated that his brother may have been coming to meet him at his home in Basaveshwarnagar, but had lost his way. Police believe that Rao died of natural causes. An autopsy was performed at M S Ramaiah Hospital.

Manjunath said that Rao was employed with Horticulture department and was experiencing memory loss and other mental problems.
