In a shocking incident, a 10-year-old boy named Tauhit was confined to a 20 kg weight bound by chain for being “very naughty” at a madrasa in Malavalli.

Upon receiving information, tahsildar Rajesh turn informed Dr Diwakar of District Child Protection Unit.

Both visited the spot on Tuesday and rescued the boy with the help of the police.
The boy was later handed over to his mother.

Tauhit’s parents and the school authorities have justified that the boy was bound to the weight as he was very naughty.

Case booked

Speaking to Deccan Herald, Child welfare committee district president Venkatesh said a case has been booked against the parents and the madrasa.

A complaint has been lodged at rural police station.
