JOIN USTilak Memorial crushed Government Press 6-2 in BDFA’s ‘B’ Division League Championship match here at the Bangalore Football Stadium on Wednesday.
In a game full of missed chances and hard tackles, Tilak Memorial enjoyed a lot of possession and were good in attack as Akhilesh (13th, 23rd, 25th) scored a hat-trick within the opening 30 minutes to give his team a 3-0 lead.
Tilak Memorial soon galloped to a 4-0 lead, thanks to M Kiran’s 39th-minute strike.
Despite being under the gun, Government Press showed some stomach for a fight and reduced the margin through Raju in the 53rd minute.
However, Kiran restored Tilak Memorial’s four-goal advantage, slamming home in the 55th minute.
Tilak Memorial then stroked to a 6-1 lead when playmaker Raja netted in the 67th minute.
Raju, however, struck his second goal for Government Press, reducing the margin in the 68th minute.
