The city’s comic buffs can rejoice. The annual Comic Con India convention is back in Bangalore.

The event, featuring a galaxy of comic book heroes, merchandise, stalls and a range of publications, will come alive over the weekend of June 1-2, from 11 am to 7 pm at the Koramangala Indoor Stadium, National Games Village.

International artists and publishers, workshops and interactive sessions every hour at the dedicated stage area, exclusive launches of comics titles, book signings, display and sale of a wide range of comics and merchandise, special corners for creating comics and cartoons, contests and more are on the agenda.

Participants in the Bangalore’s Comic Con include Amar Chitra Katha, Campfire graphic novels, Pop culture publishing, DC Comics (Random House India), Marvel Comics (Hachette India), Lion Comics (Tamil), HarperCollins India, Scholastic India, and Bangalore’s own Manta Ray Comics.

The event will also feature a special session with Jerome Saincantin from Cinebook UK, another with columnist Jerry Pinto, author of Comic Con India’s best cover award winning ‘When Crows Are White’ by Scholastic, and a special session on Self-Publishing in the Indian Comics Industry.

Amar Chitra Katha (ACK) mega quiz for fans will be another attraction. ACK Media, the house of Amar Chitra Katha and Tinkle Magazine, has arranged a special sale of original comic artwork and covers. The Cosplay (Costume) Competition, where participants can dress up as their favourite characters, will see one lucky winner chosen out of the five best participants.
