JOIN USThe Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike has decided to take up widening of important roads in the City.
The decision was taken by BBMP Commissioner M Lakshminarayana a few days ago during a meeting on the pending infrastructure projects in the City, sources said.
Engineers told the commissioner that no decision had been taken regarding widening of 217 roads. They also highlighted the need to take up these works in view of regular traffic bottlenecks in some areas. The engineers emphasised that Tannery Road, Ittamadu Road leading to AGS Layout, Uttarahalli Main Road, Sankey Road and a few other roads should be widened on a priority basis.
The commissioner is learnt to have told them to identify roads that urgently require widening and submit a detailed report comprising estimates and duration for the execution of work.
