JOIN USBangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL) has embarked upon an action plan for monsoon preparedness. A BIAL spokesperson said: All departments concerned have been directed to have the airport infrastructure checked and maintained to meet global standards.
All sewage and drain outlets in the airfield as well as terminal building will now undergo thorough inspection and cleaning.“The drains and sewage facilities are desilted and descaled. The sewage and drain network has been also been revamped. This is done to ensure unrestricted flow of water out of airport’s facilities,” the spokesperson said.
BIAL maintains that it is co-ordinating with concerned civic authority/authorities responsible for the areas immediately outside the airport and that an inspection will be carried out at the outlets outside the airport to ensure that water/sewage flows unrestricted.
The BIAL said the progress on the expansion of terminal one was going on as per plan.
