<p><br />A ten-year-old girl, who had been brutally raped by a youth in a village near here, died at a hospital after battling for life for five days.<br /><br /></p>.<p>A student of class 4, the girl, a resident of Balsinghkhera, had been raped by Lallu Rawat of the same village on Monday. The victim had gone to the field with her goats when she had been dragged to a secluded spot and brutally raped.<br /><br />Rawat had been arrested later.<br /><br />The anguished family members of the victim blamed the apathetical attitude of the police and doctors for the death of the girl. <br /><br />They said that the victim had been bleeding from her private parts when they rushed her to a private hospital but the doctors there refused to treat her without first completing the formalities with the police. They sent them to the Nagram police station.<br /><br />“We called up the ambulance for shifting the girl to some hospital in the state capital but it did not arrive,” the family members alleged. <br /><br />She was ultimately brought to a hospital here late in the night in a private vehicle but the doctors referred her to another government hospital saying that the facilities there were better. The minor ultimately died on Friday.<br /><br />Earlier too, rape victims had lost their lives for want of timely treatment. Barely a few days ago, a rape victim was made to wait for several hours as there were some technical lacunae in the police application. <br /><br />Another minor rape victim also had to undergo a similar trauma after the doctors refused to medically examine her without first ascertaining her correct age.<br /><br />Incidentally, in both cases the rape victims were made to sit with other patients in the corridor of the hospital.<br /></p>
