'Flirting was a lot of fun'

Evelyn Sharma might not have been a well-known face a few months back but now, the new girl on the block is on cloud nine.

She has everything going for her — Rohan Sippy’s Nautanki Saala was quite a hit at the box office and her performance with the film’s lead, Ayushmann Khurranna, in the number Dil Ki Toh Lag Gayi garnered much appreciation.

Now, she has another reason to be delighted — the positive critical and commercial
reaction to her latest stint on the screen, in Ayan Mukerji’s Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani.

Evelyn might not have had a very long role in the film, but she got to share screen space with none other than the golden boy of the Kapoor khandan, Ranbir.

“Starring with Ranbir is every girl’s dream,” concedes Evelyn, who is a 23-year-old half-German half-Indian.

She adds that she’s been receiving a positive response from both the public as
well as other members of the film industry for her portrayal of a ditzy young girl in the movie.

Her character, Lara, set the screen on fire with her moves and accent. This is the first time that the actress is attempting to portray a ‘sexy’ character and she agrees that the chance to flirt in front of the camera was fun. “I’ve never played a sexy character like Lara before, and I admit all the flirting was a lot of fun,” she smiles.

Apart from having set a mark as a fashion icon in India over the last few months, Evelyn has also become a sought-after face for campaigns. Meanwhile, Yeh Jawaani Hai
Deewani continues to roar at the box-office, having joined the 100-crore club even
before completing a one-week run in theatres.
