<p>The Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike on Tuesday suspended a bill collector accused of misusing the money collected as property tax. <br /><br /></p>.<p>According to a press release issued by the Palike, M G Karthik is found to have misappropriated a sum of Rs 1,66,648 during his posting as assistant revenue officer at Laggere help centre.<br /><br />The BBMP Officers’and Employees’ Association had accused the three - M G Karthik, C Janardhan and G Santosh Kumar - of misusing the money collected as property tax from the public. <br /><br />Karthik has been suspended immediately and the Additional Commissioner of Rajarajeshwari Nagar zone hasbeen directed to file a criminal against him, the statement said.<br /><br />The members of the association had alleged that notices were issued to a few bill collectors last year for misusing property tax. But no action had been initiated against them.<br /></p>
