Is the ‘Golden’ sheen rubbing off Ganesh? There used to be a time when all Ganesh’s movies were most awaited but of late, there hardly has been a box office hit from him. On top of it, for the last four months, his film Ullasa Utsaha has been delayed for release, raising speculations. There are rumours that there are no takers for the film and in the name of promoting the film, there is a merely a ‘shortly releasing’ advertisement in the newspapers every week.

Moreover, some even say that Ganesh is far more interested in promoting his own production Maleyali Jotheyali  which has caused a rift between him and Tyagaraju, the producer of the movie Ullasa.... Ganesh has also refrained from answering his phone calls. “Ganesh has not been answering my calls and I am unable to get in touch with him but I can say that there are no differences between us. We are still friends and always will be,” clarifies Tyagaraju, who recently won the Nandi Award for Best Screenplay for the Telugu original Ullasanga Utsahanga.

He also adds that the delay is on part of Censor Board which is yet to certify the movie.

“I am yet to receive the print from the Censor Board and only then can we start the promotions. Without the certificate, we cannot book the theatres or announce the release dates. The Censor certificate is expected to come within a week,” says Tyagaraju while adding, “considering that we won a prestigious award, I firmly believe that the film will surely work in Kannada as well.” Tyagaraju also says that nothing has changed in the remake.
