Beginning of a new life

A college which recently conducted its induction programme is International Management Institute (IMI). Filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt inaugurated and addressed the students of IMI along with Pritam Singh, DG, IMI. About 240 students from across disciplines attended the induction programme.

Mahesh Bhatt, an MBA graduate himself, talked about how each one should keep an optimistic approach in life. He also spoke about the importance of education in a developing economy like India. Said Bhavishya Kohli, a student, “He shared that education in its true sense should be about self-growth and understanding one’s larger role in lifeone, beyond bookish knowledge. Mr Bhatt told us how to cope up with life’s pressure and problems. He also gave the example of late Jiah Khan and explained how hardships are a part of life and ending one’s life cannot be considered a solution.”

The filmmaker also shared his views on the changing trends in education and the grooming of students. The first day of the three-day induction programme was an interactive session between teachers, students and the alumni while the following day saw group activities where students where divided into three groups and given business stimulation programme.

The given task was, how to manage a company. The third day included a case study of Nalli Sarees. That wasn’t all. Students who do not have a mathematics background were given some information about the subject and its usage in business management.

Pritam Singh, Director General, IMI too shared few encouraging words, “With the wisdom of luminaries like Mahesh Bhatt and the focus of our education methodologies, we believe that you as the future generation will address and find solutions to the challenges that we as a nation face.”
