Nothing new in coordination panel: Moily

Last Updated 05 July 2013, 18:25 IST

Union Petroleum Minister Veerappa Moily on Friday said the decision of the Congress high command to constitute a coordination committee to monitor the State government’s functioning was routine and similar committee were in place in other Congress ruled states.

“It is a policy of the AICC to constitute such coordination panels for better coordination between the government and the party. It has nothing to do with reining in the chief minister”,  Moily told reporters in Bangalore. On the political implication of KJP leader B S Yeddyurappa’s possible return to the BJP, Moily said, “It would be advantageous to us. The BJP will sink further and we will have more ammunition to target the party. Narendra Modi’s elevation has disintegrated the NDA, Yeddyurappa’s re-entry will further weaken the BJP,” he said.
