Palike school students yet to get uniforms

It has been over a month since classes have begun, but children studying in the BBMP schools are yet to get their uniforms.

The BBMP has 77 nursery schools, 11 primary schools, 35 high schools, 13 junior colleges and four degree colleges. As many as 8,000 students studying in primary and high schools need uniforms.

The Palike had invited tender to procure uniforms at the beginning of the academic year but there was poor response, thanks to some conditions in the tender. It is learnt that the Palike has relaxed those conditions now, and has floated second tender. The process is expected to complete by mid August.

BBMP Education Standing Committee Chairperson, B Govindaraju said the students will get their uniform before August 15.
