Two Egyptian nationals — Heba and Mora, both 20, on Tuesday, lodged a complaint with Koramangala Police against an autorickshaw driver for objectional behaviour.

Employed as voluntary teachers at an institute in City, according to the duo, they had hired an autorickshaw on Brigade Road, on June 21, for Koramangala fixing Rs 100 as fare.

However, the driver, they claimed, picked a tiff with them over the fare, demanding an extra Rs 100.

When they refused, he is said to have accosted the girls and abused them, following which the duo parted with the money fearing trouble.

The driver, after collecting the extra money, allegedly spat at them, the duo have said, in their complaint with the police.

Delay in complaint

They reasoned the delay in lodging the complaint was due to shock suffered following the incident.

Police have booked a case against the  unidentified driver under Sections 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) and 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace) of Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Police have now launched a search for him.
