After playing a supari killer in director Suman Kittur’s last film Edhegaarike and an equally volatile role in ‘Rebel’, Aditya Singh was eager to change his ‘rough image’ to something more soft and romantic.

And that’s exactly what he got to do in his latest film, Sweety Nanna Jodi, in which he plays a lover boy.

“It’s a film made exclusively for my female fans. I am sure a lot of women will like it. I play a rich, spoilt brat who loves teasing and being teased. In fact, my aunt Vijayalakshmi Singh, the director of the film, was keen on projecting me as a lover boy,” Aditya tells Metrolife.

Aditya dubs his character in the film as a ‘rediscovery’ of the actor in him. “I’ve done so many films that were written around the theme of the underworld. I think that every second person is doing a film related to that subject. I don’t think it’s exciting, unless the subject is very different,” he observes.

And Aditya says that he had a blast on the sets of Sweety....

“Films like this bring out another side of you. We were looking for a title for the film and I suggested we call it Sweety because every other man ends up addressing his lady love as ‘Sweety’. It’s a common thing and a name that people will instantly connect to,” he shares.

This film also happens to be Radhika Kumaraswamy’s comeback film but this is not Aditya’s first film with Radhika. They worked in Eshwara, which didn’t take off due to budgetary constraints. About acting together again, Aditya says, “I think Radhika has never looked more

gorgeous and beautiful as she does now. It’s great to work together again.”
