Former BBMP commissioner Siddaiah has clarified that he will not take part in the electoral politics under any circumstances.

There were reports that Siddaiah would contest the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections from Kolar on the Janata Dal (Secular) ticket. Rumour mills also indicated that he has started mobilising funds for this purpose.

However, speaking to Deccan Herald, Siddaiah said there was tremendous pressure on him to contest the election and at one point of time, he had started giving thought over it seriously, but later he decided not to take part in the electoral politics.

“Neither I have such desire nor the resources required to contest elections. For fighting elections I will have to beg for money from people, which will be the most stupid thing to do,” said Siddaiah. He said he has better options at his disposal to serve the society than contesting elections.
