Kannada, Malayalam, Tulu, Kodava, Beary and Konkani are widely spoken in the district. Besides Hindi is also spoken there.
‘Bhasa Bavaikyatha’
Kannada Development Authority (KDA) is organising eight-day “Bhasa Bavaikyatha” convention to celebrate the multi-linguistic culture in the district from November 7.
KDA Chairman Mukyamantri Chandru said multi-language poets’ meet, drama and music festivals, and competition for students among others would be organised at various places in the district as part of the convention.
