<p>Members of the Legislative Council Basavaraj Horatti (JD-S) and G Madhusudan (BJP) have questioned the comments made by Governor H R Bhardwaj on the appointment of the vice chancellor of Visvesraiah Technological University (VTU).<br /><br /></p>.<p>Raising the issue in the House on Wednesday, the members said the governor had dared the legislators to come outside the House and make comments on Raj Bhavan. <br /><br />“As legislators, we also have some privileges and honour. Is it right for the governor to make such comments on legislators?” Horatti asked.<br /><br />The governor, at the 48th convocation of Bangalore University (on July 17), had said: “They (legislators) should know the rules. They cannot speak about the head of the State in such a manner on the floor of the House. If they have any complaint, they should speak to me directly.”<br /><br />He has also said he had to continue with Maheshappa as vice chancellor since the search committee delayed in selecting a new candidate. <br /></p>
