ED gets transit remand of Vikas

Last Updated 07 November 2009, 19:52 IST

Vikas Sinha was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate on Friday and was sent to 14 days’ judicial custody. A day later, the Special PMLA (Prevention of Money Laundering Act) court of Pankaj Kumar allowed the prayer of ED sleuths for the transit remand of Vikas Sinha for 10 days.

The court directed the ED to provide medical help to Vikas. However, the other key accused, including two close aides of Madhu Koda-Binod Sinha and Sanjay Chaudhary, continue to be at large even as the deadline set by IT department ended on November 6. On the other hand, the IT department could not quiz the former Jharkhand chief minister as the hospital authorities refused to discharge Koda on Saturday.
