Sources at the PHC confirmed that four cases have tested positive for chikungunya in the last few days.
The patients who tested positive came from Frazer Town, Kaval Byrasandra and DJ Halli. Bowring Hospital too confirmed one 55-year-old female patient testing positive on Tuesday, while KC General have sent samples of all suspected cases for testing.

Results awaited

Results of blood samples and throat swabs of the three H1N1 Influenza A suspects who are in quarantine is expected on Wednesday.
Two males who landed in the City from New York and Sweden ten days ago, are quarantined at the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Chest Diseases (RGICD) while the latter’s wife has been quarantined in their home, according to sources.
Samples from all three suspects were sent to National Institute of Virology (NIV), Pune on Monday, and results are expected on Wednesday.
Despite being cleared during the screening at Bengaluru International Airport (BIA) both H1N1 flu suspects had developed symptoms such as throat irritation, running nose and body ache. One of the suspects’ wife too showed symptoms and is in quarantine.
“Both are doing fine, its just an upper respiratory infection. We have sent samples just to rule out the possibility of H1N1 flu,” said sources at the hospital.
