Maneka, BJP MP, who is on a two-day visit to her parliamentary constituency here, was moving in her convoy when she stopped the vehicle on seeing a roadside kiosk selling animal oil.
She questioned Sindhari, the kiosk owner, who extracts oil of “monitor lizard.” Six live monitor lizards were recovered from him. Later, she handed him over to the police.
Talking to newspersons, Maneka said she had constituted a team of 300 activists in her constituency to check cruelty against animals.
When contacted, SSP Tarun Gaba said that they are interrogating Sindhari alias Shikari and a case has been registered against him.
