<p>A section of Muslim leaders in the State Congress is learnt to have opposed the reported move by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to appoint party leader C M Ibrahim as Karnataka's Special Representative in New Delhi.<br /><br /></p>.<p>Siddaramaiah had been planning to accommodate Ibrahim, who is his close associate, in the government. But a section of Muslim leaders are said to be against it.<br /><br />Ibrahim unsuccessfully contested the 2013 Assembly elections from Bhadravati. <br />Siddaramaiah had lobbied with the party high command to get him the ticket to contest the polls.<br /><br />Speculation<br /><br />There was also speculation sometime ago that Ibrahim would be made political secretary to the Chief Minister.<br /><br />The Muslim leaders contend that those who have lost the elections should not be given priority over those who have won, and there are a number of senior party MLAs who deserve position in the government. <br /></p>
