A bike rider, whose negligence caused injuries to a woman and her son, was killed after he fell into a roadside ditch soon after, in Kamakshipalya on Saturday night.
The deceased has been identified as Ramesh, 38, a resident of Sannakki Bayalu. The accident occurred when he was returning home after work.
Police said Ramesh rear-ended a scooter near the Ganesha Temple. Harish Rao was riding the scooter with his mother Gayathri as a passenger and both fell down, sustaining injuries. Ramesh also lost his balance and fell into a roadside gutter and the bike fell over him. He was shifted to a private hospital nearby, with severe head injuries and died on Sunday. Gayathri Rao and her son are being treated at a private hospital and according to police their injuries are not life threatening. Kamakshipalya Traffic police have registered a case.
