Revenue Minister V Srinivas Prasad along with Deputy Commissioner of Mysore, C Shikha and Mayor of Mysore Rajeshwari on Saturday met Jnanapith awardee Chandrashekar Kambara and officially invited him to inaugurate the traditional Mysore Dasara festival.
The trio met the scholar at his residence along with Mysore City Corporation Commissioner P G Ramesh and honoured him with a Mysore peta and shawl and extended him an official invitation. Prasad, who is also the district in charge Minister spoke on the measures taken to ensure safe Dasara. The folk expert accepted the invitation and said he feels honoured for being invited to inaugurate the 400-year-old festival.
