<p>A 60-year-old woman hanged herself from a tree inside a park in outer Delhi’s Rohini, police said. They suspect she was depressed over her prolonged illness but they are investigating the exact cause behind the extreme step.<br /><br /></p>.<p>Murti Devi was a resident of Rohini Sector 16 and was found hanging at a park near her house on Tuesday morning. <br /><br />The security guard in the area saw a body hanging and made a call to police control room.<br />By the time police reached, people living in the neighbourhood area gathered over there, identified her and informed her family members.<br /><br />“We reached the spot and found her hanging with a rope. She was dead by the time we brought down her. The body was thereafter sent for a post-mortem at Babu Jagjivan Ram Hospital,” said a police officer. <br /><br />After autopsy, the body was handed over to the family members for last rites during the evening.<br /><br />Murti lived with her son and daughter-in-law. After questioning her family, police found that she was suffering from an illness and was depressed over this.<br /><br />“We have not found any suicide note from the spot,” an officer said.<br /><br />“Apart from illness, there might be some other reasons behind taking such a step. We are also questioning neighbour and other family members and relatives,” added the officer.</p>
