Jyoti Nivas College Post-Graduate Centre recently celebrated its orientation day on campus.
The senior students of MBA, MFA, MA (English), MSc (organic chemistry) and MCA organised a programme to orient the freshers to the culture of the college.
Through video presentations, the freshers came to know about the core values of the college like the belief in God, truth, honesty, good relationships and team work.
The director of the college Sr Lalitha spoke to them on a philosophical level. On the occasion, the bi-yearly research journal called Dhii was also released.
Sabha Shareez, a first-year MBA student, said, “It was a very entertaining and educative programme. I was impressed by the inclusive culture in which the scripture readings of different holy books were encouraged.
During the induction, I also came to know about the core values of the college, which will not only help me in academic work but will empower me in life.”
Kirthi Mariam P, a fresher, added, “The senior students of different departments warmly welcomed us and made us feel at home.
They briefed us about the wonderful qualities and essentials required to meet the curriculum. My batchmates and I are excited to make the best use of the educational opportunities that are provided here and successfully exploit them to face the future.”
The celebration came to a close with a vibrant cultural programme in which the senior students danced to the latest Bollywood tunes.
