A concept that started as an internet cafe in Indiranagar, Cafe de Verve is now a continental style eatery with a different aura and offers quick bites to its
customers.
This eatery has a glass wall outside and low comfortable pinewood furniture inside with music playing all the time. The cafe also has a small section with desktop computers, so that one can get one’s work done while enjoying the food.
Abhishek, the owner of the eatery, actually wanted to open a Chinese eatery but on the advice of a friend, he explored a different concept. “My friend told me how
Chinese eateries were springing up everywhere, and that I should try something different,” he says.
Most of his customers are young people. “The crowd mainly consists of those from the younger generation.There are also some families who come over in the evenings to relax as a group,” says Abhishek.
Since the place has a mix of items — from coffee-based drinks, smoothies to filling food like subs and sandwiches — the place has something for everyone.
“I always think from the customer’s point of view. Even while designing the interiors of the place, I was always open to suggestions. Even today, when a new customer comes, I make it a point to get his or her feedback about the cafe so as to know what to
include and improve about it,” says Abhishek.
There are people who come for their favourites like a sandwich or momos. And then there are people who come and ask for things to be changed according to their needs. “We try to accommodate the customer as much as we can. Some people specify that they want an extra dash of mayonnaise in their sandwich while some say that they don’t want any tomatoes. All this is done easily, according to the availability,” says the owner.
The place offers cappuccino, cafe gelato, hazelnut coffee, hot chocolate as well as Irish cold coffee, ‘Arabian Nights’, frappe hazelnut and more.
The smoothies are available in lychee, strawberry, chocolate and the granitas in orange, apple and black currant. If you’re hungry and want a quick bite, then chicken steam momo, smashed potato toast, grilled lamb burger, paneer subs are some interesting bites that one can grab.
Shivendar, a regular customer, says the ambience, music and the momos make him come back every time. “I’ve been coming to this cafe for almost nine years now. I practically live at this cafe and have many memories attached to this place,” he says.
Abhishek plans to expand the menu by including more items like pastas and salads. “I also plan to change the desktops into laptops, so that people can sit wherever they want to and get their work done.
This eatery should be a place where you can just be yourself,” he wraps up. The eatery is located at 3140, 7th main, ESI Hospital Main road, 2nd stage, Indiranagar.
