As the fervor of Dasara festivities completed second day, Mysore attracted a large number of people on Sunday. As a result, traffic snarls in most of the arterial roads were witnessed after dusk.

Tourist population visiting the city from all over the country and around the world was concentrated near Amba Vilas Palace to witness its glory, expecially during the Palace illumination.

Venues like Exhibition Grounds and Kala Mandir too pulled a good number of people, indicating that the inflow of tourists would increase in coming days.

Pleasantly surprised

Ferdinand, a tourist from Holland to witness Dasara festivities speaking to Deccan Herald said, “I never expected that Mysore would be this beautiful.”

“The city is well-planned and monumental buildings around the city makes it more attractive,” he added.

He said that he would stay in the city for over 10 days and added that he was enthused to witness the grand procession.

Citizens of the city too showed much interest to come out of their houses in the weekend to visit various venues where programmes are being held throughout the city.

Though most of the arterial roads are made one way to control the flow of vehicles, traffic snarls was common due to the over flow of crowd to the Palace.
