CAT-2013 to commence today

The Common Admission Test (CAT) 2013 will begin from Wednesday. The CAT this year, will be held between October 16 and November 11 across 40 cities in the country.

As many as 1.94 lakh students have registered for the exam this year. The admission test is conducted for enrolment to MBA programmes offered in 13 Indian Institutes of Management across the country. There are about 3,300 seats in all for which the 1.94 lakh students will be competing. IIM, Indore is coordinating the admission test this year.

The examination will contain two sections including quantitative ability and data interpretation and verbal ability and logical reasoning.

The test will be held for 140 minutes. Students have been requested to arrive at their test centres 90 minutes ahead of the exam as there will be identity verification process. The morning session is scheduled to begin by 10 am and the afternoon session by 3.15 pm.

Candidates are also required to carry the original CAT admit card, a photo identity proof card and, in case of reserved category students, documents supporting eligibility to the category specified.

As per the admission procedure, the names of the shortlisted candidates will be put up on individual IIM websites and the interview letters will be sent to them individually. Each IIM will have different shortlisting criteria, depending on the student’s score in the CAT exam.
The exam results are scheduled to be declared on January 14, 2014 and will be put up on the CAT website www.cat2013iimidr.ac.in
