The Convergence Institute of Media Management and Information Technology Studies (COMMITS) is a leading post-graduate media and mass communication college in the City offering courses in print and broadcast journalism. The college is situated in Chikka Adugodi on Tavarekere Main Road.

Rigved Sarkar, a second year student in marketing and management communication, feels that the college is unique in its way of teaching. “Being a part of a vocational institute, our professors stress more on professionalism. They expect more discipline and ethics from our side. The classes are interactive. Our college invites guest faculties from various media houses and these sessions are helpful to us as we acquire professional experiences.”

“We have to undergo two types of internship. One in development communication and the other in the field of our interest: be it in print medium, broadcast journalism, PR firm or in an advertising agency. As part of the curricular activity, we bring out a monthly journal called 'Your Opinion', clubbing the ideas of all the students,” he adds.
Niveditha Rai, another student, opines that her college tops in the list of media institutions as far as practical education is concerned. She says, “Our course commences six months earlier than other institutions which helps us to learn more things. I like the professional attitude of lecturers and their passion towards the field.”

Shreya Shetty is impressed by the placement of her seniors in reputed media organisations. “Once a student gets  admitted to this college, his or her life is almost settled. We don’t bother about the job, it comes automatically,” she smiles. “I like the work culture here. Our professors don't allow us to sit idle. We don't waste a single moment. We are always busy with assignments, projects or preparing for seminar papers,” she adds.

Debolina Mazumdar is proud to be the part of the college as it has an experienced faculty and she has made a good number of friends here.  Explaining about the amenities on the campus, she says, “We have a recreation hall where we can relax, a well-equipped library to study and a wi-fi facility. We have been provided with all the facilities by the college, the only thing that is expected from us is an outstanding output.” English is the conversational language and 'Suck it up' and 'Dude' are frequently recurring phrases in the college.
