Athletes of the State had a feel of the track after a pooja on November 2 but the minister wasn’t available then, with the government faced with a crisis.
Two competitions, the State junior meet and the Bangalore University inter-collegiate meet, were conducted on the new track and belatedly, the Department of Youth Services and Sports has sprung into action, announcing a formal opening.
The invitation, sadly, do not have the name of a single sportsperson from the State on it, even though politicians figure prominently.
