JOIN USBoyfriend accused of raping techie
A software engineer, working with Tally India at A M R Tech Park, has lodged a complaint with the Mico Layout police station. She accused that her boyfriend Lino Varghese (30) took her to a lodge and then raped her after administering sedatives on November 10.
In her complaint on Monday, she said that the accused had struck friendship with her when he was her colleague at Tally India till two years ago. Their relationship continued even after the accused took up a job with Aris Global Software in J P Nagar in 2007.
Last Tuesday, Lino Varghese reportedly called the victim around 11 am and asked her to come near his office on pretext of wanting to talk to her.
However, when she arrived, Lino asked her if they could go to a lodge to relax.
After obtaining her consent, he took her to room no 105 of the Woodbridge Boarding and Lodging at N S Palya on Bannerghatta Road around 1 pm. The accused then administered her sedatives in the guise of a pill for the pain in her jaw which she had complained of. He reportedly raped her when she was in a state of semi-consciousness.
Around 5 pm, when she regained consciousness, the accused told her about the incident. She pleaded with him to marry her but he refused.
‘Deliberate’
In her complaint, she has alleged that the accused took her to the lodge with a "deliberate intent" to rape her. According to her, the accused had given the address of Mysore while checking in the lodge.
The police have registered a case of rape under section 376 of Indian Penal Code and are on the look out for the accused who is absconding in Kerala.
