A software engineer from Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, was found hanging from the ceiling fan in his bedroom at a paying guest accommodation in Panathur, Old Airport Road here on Wednesday night, police said.

Investigators are trying to find out what drove K Vamsi Krishna, 24 — who was working with a leading information technology company on Bannerghatta Road for the last two years — to suicide. No death note has been found yet.

After returning from work, Krishna had locked himself in the bedroom. His absence was not noticed until late night when the PG in-charge found that he hadn’t turned up for dinner.

Fails to respond

The in-charge then went to the bedroom to call Krishna for dinner but the latter failed to respond to his repeated calls.

The in-charge then peeped through the window only to find Krishna hanging dead. He then called up the police who broke open the door and brought down the body. The deceased was staying at the PG for the last eight months.

Police sources said that it was unclear why Krishna, who was unmarried, took the extreme step.

A senior officer at HAL police station said the body was handed over to the family on Thursday afternoon after a post-mortem autopsy was conducted. Even the family was clueless about the reasons for suicide, he added. HAL police have registered a case of unnatural death.
