Replying to queries from reporters on Thursday, Yeddyurappa said the matter was still under discussion and a final decision was yet to be taken.

The State Cabinet last month had decided to levy a toll ranging between Rs 200 to Rs 1,000 per truck depending on the type of ore and the quantity being carried. The toll, was supposed to be levied from December 1 and the funds collected channelised for the maintenance of roads.

However, the Reddy brothers of Bellary, who are into mining business had opposed the toll tooth and nail.

To another query, Yeddyurappa said the state government had not decided on new taxation measure to raise funds for the rehabilitation works in the flood affected districts.

The government last month had planned to impose impose new taxes for the current financial year to mobilise resources to rehabilitate lakhs of flood-affected families in north Karnataka.
