Film arts symposium to be held in December

ABAI Fest 2013, which is India's first exclusive film and digital arts symposium, showcasing animation, visual effects (VFX) and gaming, will be held at the University of Mysore from December 6 to 7.

The event aims to attract artists within the field of cinema, television, computer games in order to make them more aware of digital content creation.

There will also be interactions with international artists Ron Diamond and Shelley Page.
Announcing this at a press conference on Tuesday, Srivastava Krishna, Secretary, Department of Information Technology Bio-Technology (IT,BT) said that, “Karnataka aspires to become the ‘number one’ hub in Asia for digital content creation, storage and distribution. Our State policy for animation, visual effects, gaming, comics and the recent i4 (I to the power 4) policy is acting as a magnate for world leaders to establish their businesses in the State.”

The festival is supported by the State government, which is working on a plan to develop a world-class media “city” in Bangalore.
