‘Ragi mudde.. naati koli saaru...’ is said to be the perfect combination. It will also instantly increase the appetite of many non-vegetarians. The same was spread on the table as part of a competition in Mandya on Sunday. Participants were more than enthused to eat and be presented with cash prizes, as opposed to paying and eating the same.
The competition provided the much-needed entertainment as many were seen struggling to get the sticky dish off their teeth. Some were even seen throwing up.
The competition attracted both the young and the old.
Satish, who swallowed ragi mudde weighing 2.75 kg and secured first prize of Rs 1,001. Girish and Mallesh secured second and third place and cash prizes of Rs 501 and Rs 251.
Taluk Panchayat member M H Javaregowda, M A Umesh and others were present.
