A senior woman employee of Doordarshan has lodged a case against a minister in the Nitish Cabinet, Shyam Razak, and his brother Naveen Kumar Prasad for continuously harassing and threatening her since November 22.

Razak is Minister for Food and Civil Supplies, while Prasad is a programme executive working with Patna Doordarshan.

The woman employee has lodged an FIR (No. 84/13) at Shastrinagar police station in the state capital charging the duo with mental harassment, continuous insults and threats. “I was forced to approach the police after some goons of the minister barged into my residence on December 4 and threatened me that I will have to face the consequences if I did not listen to mantri ji. They even threatened me that I will not be able to go to my office from home if I did not pay heed to the minister,” said the complainant.

The minister has been slapped with charges under Section 504 (intentional insult with purpose to provoke breach of peace) and Section 506 (criminal intimation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
