Teacher transfer rules set for recast

Minister for Primary and Secondary Education Kimmane Ratnakar, on Thursday, said the government would rework the rules relating to teachers’ transfers.  

He was speaking at the release of a government calender and diary on Thursday. The change in rules, he said, may be brought about by an amendment or by legislation.

While highlighting that transfers would be made through counselling system to ensure transparency, he assured that transfer of husband and wife, who are teachers, will be done before the next academic year.
