“The (Liberhan) report was handed over to the Central government on June 30 but it was not tabled in the Parliament during July session. And even now when the session is underway, it preferred not to table in the Parliament. Instead, it took to selective leak to the media only to deflect the popular attention from its failure and also to polarise the voters ahead of assembly elections in Jharkhand,” Singh told journalists.

Replying to a query, Singh said, “According to the media report former Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee has been indicted in the Liberhan probe. It is unfortunate. Vajapyee government had carved out the state of Jharkhand and hence Congress is bent on tarnishing his image and confuse the voters of Jharkhand.”
Jharkhand is slated to go for the first phase of polling on November 25.
