‘We Are The World’

Tooryatrika, the theatre branch of The Peepul Tree, is staging the play We Are The World at Ravindra Kalakshetra on November 29, 11.15 am  The play deals with the conflict between nature and technology and how they decide to co-exist without harming each other and be useful to man. In motion

The Goethe-Institut/Max Mueller Bhavan and Ranga Shankara will present a powerful dance-theatre performance by the Ben J Riepe Kompanie from Düsseldorf, Germany on November 29 at the Ranga Shankara. Works on existence

A colour riot

Intricate creations

Ganjam, in association with Spectrum Artists Circle, is presenting a week-long art exhibition of paintings and sculptures at the Karnataka Chitrakala Parishat till November 30, 10 am to 7 pm. It will have on display paintings and sculpture by eight distinguished and well-known artists including Anjan Sen Gupta, Sukumar Das, Tarun Banerjee, Murari Mohan Basu, Biswajit Mondal, Anupam Karmakar, Narayan Sutradhar and Samir Saha.

‘Vanishing India’

Vanishing India, an exhibition of paintings by Maya Devi Menon, will be held from November 27 to 29 at the  Chitrakala Parishat, from 10.30 am to 7 pm. DANCE

Kathak recital ‘Aroh’, a Kathak performance by Prathama Prasad, who is a disciple of Maya Rao, will be held on December 4, 6.30 pm at the Chowdiah Memorial Hall. Prathama is the daughter of actress Vinaya Prasad.

‘Rangapravesha’

Bharatanatyam Rangapravesha of Kirthana Ganesh, a disciple of renowned dancer Guru Shobha Shashikumar, will be held at the JSS Auditorium, Jayanagar 8th Block, on November 29, 6 pm.

On the same occasion, Shobha Shashikumar will offer Guru Namana to Kalashree Revathi Narasimhan and late Sundari Santhanam.

Odissi dance

Smriti Nandan Cultural Centre is presenting an Odissi dance performance Experiential Journey in Odissi by Devjani Sen, who is the disciple of the late Padmavibhushan Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra, on  November 27, 6 pm. The evening will have the Odissi repertoire along with a brief history and basic demonstration about the dance form at Smriti Nandan Cultural Centre, Nanda-deep, No 15/3, Palace Road. ‘Sammilan 09’

Kalari Academy of Performing Arts will present Sammilan 09 on November 28, 7 pm at the NMKRV Auditorium, Jayanagar. The event will showcase a blend of contemporary dance with Kalaripayattu, presented by talented young artists from India and abroad.
