BJP rules out pre-poll truck in Tamil Nadu

Tamil Nadu BJP unit on Friday asserted that the poll alliance for the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections should not be based on pre-conditions.

"Our party has already started the campaign throughout the country and at present, we are holding preliminary talks with the MDMK in Tamil Nadu for a possible alliance", senior BJP leader L Ganesan told reporters.

However, he said poll alliance should not be based on pre-conditions. “It will be an alliance with the BJP as a constituent. Informal talks are in progress with four to five parties in the state", he said.

He also praised MDMK leader Vaiko’s unconditional support to the BJP.

Ganesan also said that the alliance led by the BJP would propagate the Gujarat development model.

The former state BJP president hinted that his party will also hold talks with other regional outfits like the PMK for a possible poll alliance.
