Awareness about the ill-effects of air pollution should be created among the public, which can help in reducing the damage to the environment, she said.<br /><br />Madhugiri science centre president M S Jayaram opined that vehicles were not the only factor responsible for the pollution. It is also caused by bad management of the garbage, he said.<br /><br />He advised the students to form Green Club and plant saplings. Government Pre-university College Principal Kumaraswamy presided over the function. Assistant RTO Gopalakrishana, lecturer N Mahalingesh, K Ranganath, District Teachers’ Association General Secretary Amarendranath, Private Bus Owners’ Association president M G Manjunath, K V Suryanarayana, B G Kishor, G S Jagadeesh Kumar and other were present.<br /><br />Prizes were distributed to the winners of the debate competition on the topic ‘Effects of the Air Pollution’. Bhavyashree, Shivaraj, K N Shruti gained first, second and third position in the debate.</p>
