A 44-year-old woman and her 21-year-old son, an engineering student, reportedly hanged themselves with a ceiling fan at their home in Balaji Layout, Kodigehalli on Sunday evening.
Police said Prema and her son, Rajath, were “very upset” after her husband Suryaprakash left home 15 days ago following a discord. Prema had fought with her husband, an alcoholic, urging him to quit drinking.
Suryaprakash then left home, vowing to never come back. His absence made the mother and son depressed and they resorted to the extreme step, police added.
