Holders GAIL 'A' hit the front

Defending champions GAIL ‘A’ shot themselves into the lead on the opening day of the 34th PSPB inter-unit golf championship here at the Eagleton Golf Resort on Thursday.

Top amateurs Jaibir Singh and Jasjeet Singh expectedly led the show with cards of 69 and 71 respectively while Ladies’ leading amateur Gauri Monga chipped in with a fine one-under 71 as GAIL ‘A’ combined to a 211 in the two-day event.

Samarth Dwivedi also matched Jaibir’s card as the best individual score of the day, his effort leaving OIL ‘A’ just three shots behind in second place. Viraj Madappa and Manav Das assisted Samarth with scores of 72 and 73.
