Karnataka rallied to hold Tamil Nadu 1-1 and stayed alive in the race for a qualification spot in the South Zone qualifiers of the Santosh Trophy here on Saturday.

After Reagan put Tamil Nadu ahead in the eighth minute, B Prakash netted the equaliser for Karnataka in the 65th.

With two wins and a draw, Karnataka now have seven points, the same as Tamil Nadu. Kerala, who drubbed Andaman & Nicobar Islands 17-0 on Saturday, are on six points. With only two teams qualifying for the final rounds, Karnataka’s next match against Kerala on Monday will be crucial. Tamil Nadu also will be looking to seal a berth when they play Andhra Pradesh on Monday.
