But the third daughter defies all relations and elopes to marry the one she likes...”

With close connection to changing society, ‘Fiddler on the roof’ drama was beautifully staged by the students of Amber Valley School at Mugthihalli near Chikmagalur on Sunday.

The actors of the play stood high and essayed the characters like professional theatre actors.  The western classical music on the background caught the mind and attention of the audience.

‘Match maker, match maker make me a match’ and various other block busters left the audience tapping their foot. Of all the characters, Sirish Gorkhali in the role of dairy man left an everlasting impression on the minds of the audience.

The particular scene when dairyman questions his wife if she loves came across to be a highly emotional scene. “I have been with you in all thick and thins. I have starved with you and led your family. Isn’t this love,” questions Goldie, wife of dairyman.

The role of Goldie was played by Upasana Bhat, who has delivered a superlative performance defying her age. Fiddler on the Roof is a play set in Czarian era and the story revolves around the aspirations of a Jewish family in 1905.  The play is well known for its music rather than the story.
