The event, recognised by the Association of International Marathon and Distant Races, carries a total prize money of Rs 25 lakh and will have a new route this time, IOA president Suresh Kalmadi said in a release.

“Into its silver jubilee, this year the marathon has been dedicated to the golden jubilee of Maharashtra state and will be named as Golden Run,” the release said.

The 42.195km race will be flagged off from Alka Theatre and will culminate at Nehru Stadium as the route will not go through 9-km stretch traversing the University of Pune campus.

After reaching Wadia College, will pass through Adlabs Chowk-Alandi Road-Harris Bridge to Bremen Chowk. The remaining track would be the same.
