<p> <br />It was held to review the progress of the implementation of the Multi-Sectoral Development Programme in the MCDs and to apprise the States of the various schemes of the central ministries which could be implemented in these districts.<br /><br />The conference was addressed by Salman Khurshid, Minister of State for Minority Affairs and R Bandopadhyay, Secretary (Corporate Affairs, holding additional charge of Minority Affairs) and was organised consequent to the suggestions made in the meeting of the Parliamentary Consultative Committee (PCC) on Ministry of Minority Affairs, which was held earlier this month.<br /><br />The representatives of the Ministries of Human Resource Development, Rural Development, Labour and Employment, Drinking Water Supply, Women and Child Development and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, apprised the participants on how the various government schemes could be converged for the benefit of the people in the minority concentration districts.<br /><br />During the conference, the State representatives were requested to ensure expeditious and effective implementation of the schemes of Ministry of Minority Affairs and also other Ministries of the Government of India in the minority concentration districts. <br /></p>
